I remember years ago!!!

Years ago, I loved as my dad and my brothers and I would gather in the TV room on a Saturday night. The reason , Bruins Habs game at Montreal. Just what we are pissed about today about last nights game (bad calls) is what my brothers and father would say years ago. Montreal is the favorite and the refs are afraid to call penalties on them. Back then the head NHL office was in Montreal and people felt because of that the Habs were always treated differently. I never though of it that way, after all I was always excited they would win. I do remember the infamous Don Cherrys team being called for too many men on the ice which led to Lafluer pp goal and the game winner. In fact, when coaches corner comes on the intro is Cherry standing on the bench at Montreal when his team was called on that penalty. He stands there waving his arms.

david- I too have those memories of my Dad. When I was little he would go for anyone BUT the Habs just because he knew hwo it got under my skin hehe. I remember many nights sitting around and watching Hockey Night in Canada with him, especially when they played the Brrons in the playoffs. My Dad passed away when I was in grade 12 but I will always cherish those memories. That is what makes being a Hab fan so special. It is a religion to us.

Very nice story, I lost my dad January 03 three weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. He ran a body shop and painted cars all his life. Also the 3 packs of chesterfields every day did not help. I never learned to skate, but we played loads of street hockey. Originally I liked Tony Esposito, but soon I became Ken Dryden. I still have all original Mylec goalie equipment, including Canadiens away jersey I wore when we played.  As I sit here typing, behind me on the shelf is a goalie mask that my father took to his shop and painted it just like Drydens. Blue ring on outside with red Circle on inside made into the CH. I would love for u to see it. Maybe I can post a picture some how. My son NorthwindNS will have to do it because I am computer Illiterate
