Theodore or Danis @ Ottawa?
Permalink Closed

Who would you like to see playing in Ottawa. I say give Danis a chance. He proved himself to be solid in between the bars against Buffalo - despite the loss he made some good stops. The first goal and the second PP goal he had no chance on, I would like to see any goalie stop those. The third goal is debatable.

I say put Danis in against Ottawa - unless Theo shows a really solid performance.

Nic or Windy as you have been called,   we call them pipes not bars.  Pipe is what the player hits with the puck. Bar is what the player hits when hes had a bad game lol

I honestly don't think it matters the way the team has been playing lately.  They have lost whatever it was they had . . . they're losing the battles for the puck and have seemed to stopped skating.  If the Habs don't work 100% out there every shift and utilize their speed, they are nothing but an average/below average team.

They are stinking the joint out tonight in Toronto.  Theodore still can't control his rebounds (leafs second goal).  It appears we really do need Kovalev and I'm also thinking Souray also (although some of you don't adgree on that).

I totally agree that we need Souray back. He was our best d-man until Markov and Rivet stepped it up. We really need him back now if Markov gets suspended.

Theo, for sure. Putting Danis in is more or less asking to be killed. Danis is not ready to be thrown out there to face Alfredsson Heatley and Spezza....on the same line. With Chara and Redden blazing shots at him also. Theo seems to step it up against good teams, especially when he sees alot of shots. We all know what Ottawa can do, so i think this is going to be a battle of the goalies. Hasek is the best on the first shot, but if you can get the rebound its almost a sure goal because he is the worst posisitonal goalie in the league. The guy is a flopper, and without the defense clearing the puck every time hasek wouldnt be so good. And heck, with a team like Ottawa right now its hard to look bad. Im not bashing Hasek in any way...im simply saying he isnt unbeatable. Crash the net and use his bad positioning after the first shot against him.

To back up what Johab is saying, Hasek looked BRUTAL against the Bruins the other night (despite some good saves). Against a better team, and without those monster defensemen, there would have been a ton of garbage goals from rebounds where he was way out of position. I tell you, if I was an Ottawa fan I'd be concerned, but then Hasek has this way of playing incredible (esp. in big games) while looking terrible.

Haseks weakness is rebounds. He gives out fat juicy ones. IF you can crash the net and get a good shot off, you WILL score on the rebound. Notice all his BEST saves are on rebounds where he is out of position and someone manages to get a pad or stick on it. Hes good at getting in the way, but those saves only look good cuz he is out of posistion so much he is forced to make those saves. Good goalies like theo play the posistional style and im sorry but id rather theo over Hasek any day.

Well we pretty much know now that Theo will be playing against the Sens - since Danis is being sent back down to Hamilton.

If we want to have a chance tomorrow. Keep out of penalty box. Get the PP going and rebounds are bountiful on Hasek   go upstairs on him
