Ottawa's absurd goals ratio
Permalink Closed

I'm trying to remember the last time a team had a goals for-against ratio as far over 2 to 1 as Ottawa has now

Anyone?

I have said it many times before here...Ottawa is in a class by themselves. It is not even close. I remember saying that once here and someone replying that he would believe it when they did not bow out in the first round of the playoffs this year. Well start believing. There are many key differences to this year's Senators as opposed to the ones playing golf in May in the past. Number one is a legitimate NHL Goalie, number 2 is depth from top to bottom. No other team in the NHL has the depth (no not Detroit either) top to bottom that Ottawa has.  They have arguably one of the most feared number one lines in recent NHL memory. They have toughness, one of the best defence in the league (does anyone here think that Bouillon could be their 5th or 6th dman let alone 3rd?). Couple this with the fact that the rest of the league is more evened out with the salary cap and you have the recipe for a powerhouse.
