I didn't catch who the shooters were for both sides. I only heard Dagenais score and Hossa miss. I thought that Montreal had last shot since the game is a Habs home game? Can someone tell me the shooters and the order?
that was an absolutly amazing save! i only saw from the 10 min mark in the 3rd to the end but from what i saw theo was in mpv form. i hope he can keep this up. just wish he pulled out a save like that against crosby but ah well.
It was a positional save! His glove was where it should be and open. He didn't have to move it as the puck went into it! He gave it a little dazzle but why not! Key save!
I was happy for Theo. Had it not been for an amazing save on Kovalchuck on a breakaway in overtime it would not go to the shootout. Good to see him rewarded.

When Ryder took his shot, I was pissed. I thought what a waste of an opportunity. Then I saw the replay and realized that he saw Shields out of position and tried to take advantage AND barely missed the corner. Great idea, great vision. This kid is turning into a great player.
And, yes, Theo was in the right spot at the right time to make that spectacular looking save, but, HE WAS IN THE RIGHT SPOT AT THE RIGHT TIME. Isn't that what we have been looking for from him? By having good positioning on Hossa, Hossa didn't have a whole lot of choice but to shoot it into his glove.

As a goalie I need to disagree. Number one, the game never would have gotten to the shootout had Theo not stopped one of the eagues most feared gunmen in Kovalcheck in OT. As far as the save on Hossa, that was a highlite real save. Hossa generally shoots and Theo said himself he expected a shot. So h emade the adjustment when Hossa went to the deke.
Look I have been the first guy to poop on Theo when he has played poorly. But geesh boys give the kid his due. He stole the game last night. Now w ecan be negative and say well it's about time he played to his potential or we can be positive and pat the guy on the back. Personally I prefer to do the latter.

I completely agree Barry. Did you see the look on his face and the extra effort in his skate around after being named first star? It was almost like he proved to himself that he can perform to the caliber that he is being paid for. I am looking forward to the Habs building on this win and moving forward.

The good news is that Theo played great and stole two points from Atlanta. The bad news is that Theo was called upon to steal two points from sub-.500 Atlanta, at Home. The Habs as a team are still in a funk - but I'll gladly take the two points and move on.
Choosing Dagenais as a shootout shooter was an interesting move. At least his skating prowess (NOT!) wasn't a problem; he could take all night to get to the net. In hindsight, a master stroke by Claude J!

Apparently Atlanta's been pretty good lately though. I'm pretty happy with the 2 points after all the penalties. Hossa, Bondra, Kovalchuk, they should be doing better than they are, but goalie injuries have been a problem.
