1. Guy, Guy, Guy! (give the kid a few games...it will help out the Canadian Junior team as well if Guilliame gets his feet wet versus the best) WHO IS AND-O KIDDING THOUGH - AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!!
2. Start the checking line each game and each period (it might shift the teams mindset towards a more defensively responsible one)
3. Bump Saku back to the point on the powerplay (with Souray) and put Perezhogin, Bonk and Zednik upfront. (on the 2nd PP unit...use Ribs, Dagenais (YES Dagenais) and Ryder)
4. Move Begin back to the wing PERMANENTLY.....Begin has been great but he is obviously wearing down - which has always been the knock against him! Why not move him back into a role where he has success???
5. Play Dandenault exclusively as a defenseman OR a winger - NOT BOTH! (Granted, the injuries have created this issue...but I think Dandy can best contribute on defense now for awhile)
.....And-o thinks that these four ideas make some sense! What do you all think???
Like I said in a previous post we should play the following lines in the next game:
Zed Sak Perez
Ryder Pleks Higgs
Bulis Bonk Sundstrom
Dags Ribs Begin
This puts the checking line back together which I think we need because Bulis just can't score so leave him where he belongs. It also gives defence to Ryder so he shouldn't get more (-)'s and the same for Ribs and Dags with Begin out there with them.
JohnM. I actually like all those lines. But we all know Ribero will never land on the fourth line. If that is where is lands then we may as well trade him for a legitimate grinder to couple with Begin.
My prediction: Ribero will land on some no name team(Columbas, Anehiem??). This will happen in the next 1-2 years. He will prance around and produce 70 points and never play a shred of defense. The team he is on will not make the playoffs and all "Hab fan Ribero lovers" will be saying " told you he was going to do it". Save this post, this is going to happen.
Also. The last two games were the result of crappy goaltending. This team is not off the tracks like alot seem to think. We have some FAT problems but they are so obvious I guarantee Gainey will fix them( Thin on d and a weak second line center).
The only thing that can't be fixed through trade or free agency is goaltending. They sighned Theo to a huge contract and we are stuck with him for now. Lets hope he comes around.
I think we need Ribs for the time being. Hard for me to say that but it's true. Until we can get another scoring center he is needed. We need him on the PP, so limit his minutes 5 on 5 and let him play the PP.
This one is for Barry33 -> The coaching staff made a mistake playing Theo on Friday. He was not ready and should not have played. He could have been saved for Saturday's game. This is not a reason to get rid of CJ. He will be here for awhile, he deserves it. He is a good coach but makes some rookie mistakes. These are normal considering this is such a pressure cooker city and he is relatively new to the NHL.

The problem is John, as I understand it, Theo assured the coaching staff and trainers he was good to go. Unfortunately a groin is not like a visible injury like a broken hand, sperated shoulder or even knee damage where there is swelling. A groin injury (I know I have had them as a goalie) is virtually invisible. You pretty much have to go on the player's word that he is ok to go. Theo said he was. As for CJ making mistakes I agree, however I see Pat Quinn making mistakes all the time and he has coached since the dinosaours were roaming. The problem with coaching in Montreal, as you alluded to, is that every mistake you make is magnified 120000 times more. My hope is that when he does move on that he will end up in a place like Atlanta or San Jose where he can coach in relative obscurity and work on the golf game.
