Thread for tomorrows game on Ribs only!

Let's pay close but objective attention to Rib's game then we'll comment on it. Just base it on the game and not his dive two seasons ago or how he has played prior to this as we all know he has had a slow start. In other words if he once fails to gain the zone or falls when checked, it doesn't mean that he had a terrible game. Also keep in mind that he isn't paid to carry our team offensively.

We will base on scales of 1-10 on these factors: #1 SKATING/ #2 PASSING/#3 SHOOTING/#4 BACK CHECKING OR DEFENSIVE PLAY/#5 STICK HANDLING OR STRENGTH ON THE PUCK/#6 GAINING THE ZONE.

I will be watching the game from a pub with buddies so my judging may be a bit...errr...clouded. But will do my best not to use my beer goggles.

I agree that Ribs shouldn't be judged by his past antics. However, he is -5 (Ryder is -6)! For those of you who watch the Avant-Match on RDS, Ribs is oftentimes marching around the players' lounge and locker room with his handycam while the rest of the team is getting game-ready.

CJ had Ribs and Ryder work on their d-zone coverage yesterday. We'll see how it translates tonight.

Hard to judge because CJ rolled all four lines over and he didn't get the ice time he usually gets and also his linemates didn't play well. Ryder skated into traffic with the puck too often and Higgins didn't skate.

skating 5/ Passing 6/shooting 4/ back checking or defensive game 6(a little better than usual)stick handling or strenght on the puck 5/ gaining the zone 6    score=32/60 average game to say the least.

On a night when the whole team played average except one period! Theo was the worst player tonight!

I watched Ribs and I've noticed that he's always looking to make the nice pass. It's ok at times, but sometimes when you gain the zone you just have to dump it in there and not give the puck up so easily to the other team. Can't say much about him this game though, he like many others were complete non-factors.

Not sure what the debate is here. Ribero has been god awful all season long. I mean not even a close call on this one. Face it, he stinks( at the moment anyhow). Lets hope he finds a way because if not, what are the habs gonna do?

Also, Theo stinks and I am not surewhat the debate is here either...Johab? Even Rollie admits Theo has been struggling. But like Barry33 states, he makes 5.5 Mil a season and he needs to be played. Again, lets hope he finds a way. I like Dannis but he is not ready to be a number 1 guy. And even if he was, Theo still will get the nod most nights.

I did notice that this time around that he should shoot the puck in deep as Ryder is a great forchecker! Also noticed last night that Higgins and Ryder went to wide and Ribs had no outlit. Maybe if a winger would provide better puck protection and stay closer to the carrier, it would help. That whole line needs some work but the mix of strength, speed and skill are in place.
