Sid the Kid - again

Maybe we need a special place on the Board for posts on this guy!  2 goals and an assist last night in a 3-2 win against the Flyers.  And he did it without Mario in the lineup.  Anyone dare to say he's not the real deal?

...and his talents are being TOTALLY wasted in Pittsburgh where his #1 role is to regain Mario's $30 million investment (and pave the way for someone to either build Mario a new arena...or artifically inflate the resale value of his franchise).

What a tragedy that this kid doesn't wear the "CH"!

In fact, history will show the day that ping-pong ball fell in favour of the Pens as a dark day for everyone except Mario

Nil, I agree wholeheartedly! He is the "next one". Just wonder how good he'll really be by season's end. 2 goals inc'l the OT winner. this kid isn't intimidated by NHL'er's, he's adjusting a lot quicker than I expected. Also, that Ovechkin kid seems like real deal also. Nice to some new emerging stars that could only lead to better the league. Let's hope some of the Hab prospects make an impact in the league also

I agree fully, And-o.  It's one of life's great tragedies.  I would package the entire Habs team and trade it for Crosby, and build from there.

Have you ever seen kiddie photos of Sidney?  He's always in a Habs uniform.  I must say, it looks good on him!

Get your mind out of the gutter, NOHF.  Habgirl will never go for you with that kind of talk!

I don't know if Crosby's wasted in Pittsburgh. They already have the makings of a half-decent team that could make the playoffs next year. Anyone who doubts Mario's commitment to this team beyond financial considerations should watch him play. I've never been much of a Pittsburgh fan, but I'm glad for them in this case.

Good post! I'm glad that while we couldn't get him that he ended up in Pittsburgh. I hope they make the playoffs. Reality of it all is they needed Crosby big time for PR. of marketing a new arena and for improved play on the ice. It was sad to see this team have to dump so much talent due to lack of funds.

The Pens and Mario deserve to make some money. They were once an elete team and Mario was the magic that made it happen then and still enough magic to make it happen again whether it's on or off the ice. Remember Mario was arguably the best player in the world and saved that franchise. He deserved to make a top wage! He didn't get paid in full so I hope he gets paid one way or another.
