Another test with a handful of regulars out.  A winable game if the team plays as a team and sticks to a game plan.  4-2 Habs.

Florida is more banged up than the Habs...no excuses tonight!

I can't wait to see CJ's line combo's.

My guess is that Dagenais will find his way back to the wing with Ribs and Ryder.  Perezhogin will likely start out with Koivu and Zednik.

Things get more interesting from their though.

Well I can honestly say that the last 2 games we have simply run into hot goalies. Thibeaut looked like Patrick Roy against us on Thursday then looked like me on Friday. Belfour looked like Me on Friday then Patrick Roy on Saturday.  So will Luongo look like me or Roy tonite? Having said this, we need to find a way to finish when we run intoa  hot goalie. There are alot of good tenders in the NHL and most seem to get up for us. And-O I hate to say it but if Monsieur Bonk wants more ice time he needs to find the back of the net. To date he has not been able to hit the ocean while firing pucks off the pier. Yes he is doing a job defensively but so is Begin, yet Begin manages to score some big goals. With Kovy out we desperately need Bonk to step up and find the net.

Koivu will need to show strong leadership and rally the troops and chip in with a few. It is time for the Habs to prove that they are for real and that their record, with or without Kovalev, is for real. And the time is now.

While not really pertaining to the topic at hand (I didn't want to start a new thread), isn't it funny how what is on the front of a player's jersey decides your feelings for them.  I can remember not too long ago, me sitting in front of the tv over the Christmas week cheering for Luongo and the Canadian jr's touting him as the next great goalie.  Fast forward to Nov 1, against the Habs, I was yelling some world class obsenities at the aforementioned goal keeper. The only difference being his jersey.

Dominating so far. Let's hope they leave the period with the 2-goal lead they deserve.

3-3 now. Sloppy team D has hurt us yet again. Florida has woken up, they're skating harder, and the Habs are back on their heels. Can't entirely blame the defensemen tonight, though, I don't think. Not a lot of effort being put into backchecking by the forwards. If the Habs give this one away, like they almost did the last time they played the Cats, I'm going to vomit bleu-blanc- et-rouge all over my carpet. I hope they'll pull it out. But even if they do, can't call it a great performance tonight. Note to Bob G -- we need a LEADER on defense, not just a troupe of somewhat adequate d-men!

OVERTIME . . . again.  Habs blow a 3 goal third period lead, can they pull out the win in overtime or shootout.

Another 2 points against a team that is MUCH better than their record shows!!  Let u snot forget even the "losses" against Toronto and the Pens got us a point..how many games has it been since we did not get at least a point?!??? What a Team!!! Saku steps it up!!

Barry, if I'm counting correctly, we have an 8 game points streak going. And that's 3 consecutive OT games as well.

Where did the first line go in the third period?  Zednik and especially Koivu were everywhere, doing everything in the first two periods only to disappear in the third.

I hope someone in the Habs coaching staff explains to Sourray that he is not expected to fill Kovalev's shoes.

Komisarek looked a little out of sorts the entire game.  Has he hasd his bell rung lately?

Kudos to Begin for standing up to Cairns.

And, finally, the third goal was BS.  The play should have been blown dead.  From what happened on that goal, I guess it is okay to continue to push the goalie into the net after he has made the save, providing you use your stick.
