Today in the Ottawa Citizen, there was an article thats headline read " Senators Should Thank Canadiens". It went on to say how even though Ottawa has come out the gate flying, outscoring the opposing team almost 3-1 every night, the Montreal Canadiens are still right there, not beside them but infront. Murray is currently using the Habs as motivation to keep his team going, they want first and our Habs have so far been the top team against them. Their record matches the Sens The team matched the sens so far the closest out of all the meetings. a 4-3 overtime loss that Montreal was dominating in until Spezza got Ottawas first OT shot, which is all they needed, and another game 4 games into the season where montreal outplayed Ottawa in the 1st and 2nd periods and match in the third but couldnt get the lead and let in a empty net goal to go down 4-2. Montreal is finally one of the scary teams in the league, ALMOST considered a powerhouse thanks to their amazing speed and offensive capabilities. The next Habs vs Sens game is REALLY going to be a good one!!!

There's no question our Habs are finally getting the respect they deserve... except on TSN, who still thinks teams like the lowly Bruins are better... but they're idiots anyway.
Still, Ottawa is the best team in this league, and even though the Habs are playing well, and should make the playoffs comfortably for the first time in years, I'm not sure we're ready to effectively compete against Ottawa just yet. But that time will come, and sooner than Leafs fans (or any other rival team for that matter) will want to admit.
Yes, Johab. It will be one heck of a game (is it Nov 30 in Ottawa, I think.) Detroit is actually the best team in the league, though, in my opinion. But, since OTT and DET don't play this year (and they won't meet in the finals either) we'll never know. I like Montreal's chance to at least meet OTT in the semis.

But what can you expect from a network that hires Glen Healey, Steve Simmons and Pierre Maguire as their "experts"?

Speaking of TSN, i sent a email to the guy who does thier power-rankings every week cuz i was pissed off at seeing the habs being kicked around in the bottom half of the league when their record has had them in the top 5 all year. I more or less b!tched at him for a while and told him to stop being an idiot. This week the habs cut their posistion in half and moved from 16th to 8th. Id like to think i had some part in that.

I am not saying you didn't have a part, but in the mailbag section, he says that there were a pile of Habs fans who wrote in to complain about his rankings. His reply was week to say the least, but he really took a shot at the points production of the defense. It was a little bit funny how he said that Thornton returning with 20pts and plus 3 rating made the Bruins a better team, then knocked the Habs defense where they have players with plus 4,3,2, sure some with a minus (I think the worst was minus 3). Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but even though all players should know how to play at both ends, isn't Thornton payed to score, while defensemen (as is indicated by their title) are supposed to keep the puck out of their own net? Sounds to me like Thornton is more of a liability at only plus 3.
Sorry Johab for getting off topic. My rant is over. Whew!

figs , i hope you have something besidea detroits record to back up you thought , they have been feasting on the likes of chicago -3 stloius-3 and columbus -2 . they are not as good as their record indicates .
Who the hell cares for the Bruins as long as we beat them !!! They still don't come over it that they wear beaten in the playoffs twice in the last years by the then not so strong Habs ....
