Problems im having with this new board.

forgot to add the fact that with this new board you cant tell if you replied to a certain topic or not when in the last one you can. I admit it, i post soley for the purpose of getting replies and other peoples opinions, so i will want to read those before and more than i would other peoples post, as im sure it is for most of you too. Here all you can tell is again who started and ended the topic. Just another thing i miss about the old board. If i had to choose, id have kept the old board over this one. But im sure its just me. The rest of you seem to be doing fine.

take a look at gearslutz.com , a pro audio board i frequent. let me know what you think about their board format. Don't let the name put you off, it's a big board with 40, 000 members

My post was not in any way meant to put down mario. Like i said this site is still my favorite on the web. I was simply saying i just prefer the old board over the new one for the reasons i stated earlier. I dont expect him to change the board back, im just hoping that with time i will become more comfortable with this new board the way i was with the old.

Well, Johab, I hope you won't let your difficulties stop you from being an active participant. I, like you, did not like the new format at first, but am now used to it, and probably prefer it now. What I do is click on "Recent posts" every morning to see what has been added from the previous day. If the topic is not of interest, I might skip it.

Look, this new board is not perfect but it's a whole lot easier for me (manage accounts, etc.). I had to change the previous version because it was outdated and I hated the look. Sure there are other boards out there, but this one is free. I do not make hands over fists with GOHABS.com just enough to cover some expenses (web hosting, traffic volume as I keep surpassing my allowed quota which is a good thing because it means the site is generating more traffic than ever before).

But like Nil D wrote, you can adapt. It won't be like the previous one, and I never claimed it would. We just have to live with what we have. Personally, I love this new version and I am guided by the many positive feedback I've received.

Looks way better now. Personally don't have a problem with the way it works, as a number of others use similar formats and I'm used to it. I found the old one more confusing because there was no real seperation between things, and it was a little hard to find things you were looking for

I am more used to this style of board than the previous - and this one is much better for navigation and a tonne more fun with the sigs and avatars. I'll only repeat my one request - how about multi-rooms? One for like Non-Habs topics, Game Day threads and an all other. Unless it costs more, then this is fine. Otherwise, it might help a little with organization or topics. But, even then, if we all stick to some basic rules then it won't get so cluttered. IE - if there is a post on page 1 that has the same topic as yours, post there instead of making a new one. Comments for a particular game, for example, should be in one thread. That would include any posts you are "reposting" from another site.

Call it "post pollution." We all need to work together to conserve space

Multi-rooms are within my control. I chose to have one room because I don't want nor like to jump around all the time.

If I do adopt multi-rooms (I need more convincing mind you), what rooms would you like to see?

I also appreciate you Mario for the hard work you put into this board, but like Johab I am having trouble with it in the sense that I don't necessarily check it out each day so when I do, I get frustrated because I have to go through so many pages. As Nil says, it's probably a matter of adjusting. Speaking of which, Nil, could you give this Board Luddite a few helpful hints, ie, how to navigate a little more quickly?

The main reason I haven't been posting lately is that I just don't have the time to look through all the pages and pages of posts and I don't want to start a topic that has already been dealt with before as this takes up board space.

In any event, even though I haven't been posting, I try to read the recent postings and stay in touch with the topics.

So now that I am here, I just have to say that I am one happy camper. Our team is doing super and without my rose coloured glasses.

Could be seperated something like this:

1. Upcoming game speculation
2. Past game commentary
3. Player/coach critiques/praise
4. Habs business (trades, etc) and history
5. Off topic moan zone

Just an idea

Excellent choice of topics, brook ("Moan zone" - I like that!). I, however, would prefer to see them as separate threads on the same Board, rather than have to flip through separate Boards. I find once you've browsed around this new site a bit, it gets much easier, and I have no issue with the Board as it is right now.

Mario, I think for those who don't frequent the board as often that multi-board would be helpful. Maybe we can give it a whirl for a week or 2 and then gain feedback. I like the a) game discussion (same area for pre and post game) b) non-habs topics c) player praise/critic d) moan zone/member columns and a static section for those who want to post their list of Habs stuff (ie one post per member and they edit as their stash changes).

great job mario, thanks for doing this board i look forward to getting on it every day and reading everyones great opinions. The new board is great it just takes time to adapt to it like anything in life

It may seem like i was bashing a little bit, what i didnt point out is what i like about this board, its new feautures, the quote tool, all the emoticons, the suddenly much larger habs family, all these things are great, and im sure ill eventually adapt to the new board also. Theres no way id leave this family, ever!!! Heck when i was banned for that year or so with the accusation of being Habarounie, i still came EVERY day read EVERY post and even worked hard enough to get myself back on the board and prove my inncense. Im with Mario and this board 100% even if there are a few things i prefer more from the old. :D

And speaking of Ol' Habarounie, do you know who that actually was? Even though you were falsely accused, there was a reason why you were accused and not the rest of us (the same e-mail address or something). Can you shed some light on that one? It's one of life's greatest mysteries.

Ok I started reading all the posts back in 2001 or so. But I hear all this talk about Habauroni(SP?). Exactly what did he/she say or do that got the ban?

Please someone shed some light on this.

Another hint, Mrs. Hab: When replying to a post, please hit "Quote" rather than "Reply". With "Reply", your post ends up at the bottom of the page, which could be several posts down from the one you're replying to, and it gets confusing. With "Quote", it reproduces the post you're replying to right in the body of your post. See above: "Mrs Hab wrote......."

And anyone who insults you will have to answer to me! I'm sure there was no insult intended.

I don't like this multi-board or room thought! Too much structure may take the fun out of it!

Nil d id gladdly answer the whole Habarounie thing. Thought i had already but ill refresh all your memories. Habarounie is a friend of my old sister who use to come over and use the computer and when he saw me writing on this board he started teasing me about being a habs fan and about how his devils were better bla bla bla...the guy is a dumbass. He thought it would be funny to get his own name and put down me and the rest of the board. Turns out while he was doing this he was using our IP address, hence the reason why Mario blocked my computer. This really pissed me off because i couldnt get retard boy to send an email to Mario telling him that it wasnt me because he didnt care, and Mario at the time was protecting his board and ignoring most of my emails, if they even got to him. Turns out someone noticed my posting on another board found in the poll section, copied it onto the real board, a few of you remembered who i was and i was able to get a clean slate again, i had to earn it back from And-o but most of you were pretty understanding about the whole thing. Im glad i was able to find that loop-hole and get back on the board, and if it wasnt for whoever read my post on the poll board i probably still wouldnt be on this board. I owe whoever that was a big one. For some reason i keep thinking it was either Normie or you Nil d

I hate to pat myself on the back, but it was me . I read your plea on the other board and really felt for you. I copied it on this Board, with the comment that you sounded sincere and should be given the benefit of the doubt. Mario, in his wisdom, agreed.

And we're all glad he did.........................

And what's old habarounie doing these days?
