the difference with this team this year

So far in the early going I have seen the HABS come back from deficits in a lot of games this year.  Something we have not seen for a while.  I don't know if it is a result of the new rules but I like what I see.

GO HABS GO!!!

I'd like to think it's part new rules but mostly team spirit and morale.  Not a lot of changes, a team built from within.  Also, when a star like Kovalev gives his commitment for 4 years, that has got to do something.  This team is a "team" team.  Teeming with team players.  I really beleive that if we stay the course, we're at least a Conference Finals team this year.

I agree with figaro. on paper, it's not that much better a team than in the past couple years. It's all attitude. The fun of winning games.

You can also see it against other teams. This years habs stick out like a sore thumb, enjoying even the couple of losses they've had. Last year (2 years ago) they'd get in pouty funks and lose games while the zamboni was out there. Not this year's team

There's something about the feedback loop of players getting off on each other's performances that can make magic happen. And you can see on their faces they love and respect the play that's going on

It'll be great in December to see them play all those western teams

The Rangers are in a similar situation. On paper, nothing special, but you can just tell everyone is out there for a purpose. And they win because of it

Either way, the most fun habs in years from my couch-eye view
