I think it might be time to get rid of the "Thank You Fans" on the ice. while a nice gesture, I think we're all settled in now, and can do without it taking up half the ice behind the blue lines
Or am I just uber-grumpy going into the third with Buffalo?
I think its there to stay. I can see why they are hurting financially. U all see the empty seats. I got goose bumps when the Habs fans started the Goal song Ole Ole that was great. U hear the public address announcer. Penalties/punitions Montreal 27 hookinhg 40 sabres 40 Hooking. There was no pizzaz. Even when he announced golas. I fear they know the end is coming soon for the franchise. Of course Bettman says the new NHL will help all teams survive.
I was at the game tonight, and I've got to say, me and a bunch of other Habs fans (the place was full of them) were all singing the Ole Ole song and chanting Go Habs Go! But in regards to empty seats, they were few and far between. Looked to me like a sellout, which you don't see too often in Buffalo.
Ya, the announcers on CJAD radio were commenting on how the crowd was very Pro-Habs. I was listening on a laptop while a 14 girl MSNed with like 6 people at once. So Between clicks and clacks i got the occational "Biron robs them again." Guess MTL could have scored 5-6 goals last night.

The game was indeed a sellout. I was at a Habs game in Buffalo about twenty years ago (the old Aud), and I remember two things: (1) more Hab fans than Buffalo fans, and (2) banners hung in the rafters that said things such as "Adams Division runner-up 1977-78". Made me laugh out loud.

I notice on all the rinks it says "Thank you fans" but at the ACC it says "Thank You Leaf fans" Why does the center of the hockey universe have to different than everyone else?

You know, I actually E-mailed the Leafs orginization about that one. But all I got from them is they don't control that, and I would have to send a letter to the design department or something to inquire about it, and it seemed like too much work considering I would get no results. I just wanted to voice my opinion that Toronto is NOT the center of the universe, especially since I live there.
I don't know about a sellout, because when i went to pick my tickets at will call at around 6;30 two teenagers got tickets for the game no problem. but it was great too see all the habs jerseys in Buffalo. some of the names on the back of them brought back old memories. It is a nice rink in buffalo but i think the highlight of the night was after the game and probably a few beer too many the police were hauling a habs fan off in cuffs, and someone from the crowd yelled out don't take the habs fan not the habs fan! funny in away or i guess you had to be there. In final though, I met alot of great people mostly habs fan and had a great time. It just sucks I have to drive 2 plus hours to see a habs game when I live 30 mins from toronto and barely get tickets to see anaheim vrs the buds.
