I've been dumping on Theo because he doesn't look right at all. Firstly he is challenging too far out of his net then has to go really far lateral to cover the other side of the net. If he played a little more shallow into his net, it would help him on two on ones or when the puck is being moved laterally as on an opposition PP. With the new rules and fancy passing, he should adjust to this.

Also because he is so far out of his net he is sliding across alot of distance and keeping one skate down and one knee down to push across in increments. Not being square in his butterfly at all with his shoulders square so one shoulder is lower than the other thus more top shelve to shoot at. He seems to be leaning to the one side all the time rather than being square and playing the angle so pucks are going in between his arm and body because his arms are not tight to his sides.

When Theo is on his game, he goes down for the low shot on both knees at the same time in a classic butterfly and moves laterally square. He then uses his extremities to kick out pucks or his arms move away from his body to make saves not towards his body as they are now.

The reason we are winning games isn't because of the vintage Theo. It's because we have more offense and scoring more goals.

I also think that if we only use Danis every 10 games then it couldn't be good for his development. He has to play more!

Again I feel Theo is an overrated goalie because of some playoff success. He is now overpaid and hasn't proven himself in the playoffs beyond a couple first playoff rounds. I hope he starts doing the things that made BG pay him so much.
