Last night's game -- and the play of the team in general so far this year -- reminds me of the '93 playoffs when Les Habs always seemed to find a way to win. Yes,they took too many penalties last night. Yes, their D was a little lax in clearing rebounds and clogging up the slot. And yes, Theo no doubt wishes he had gotten a little luckier on some of the shots that eluded him. But thanks to a "Never Say die" attitude on the part of players like the amazing Steve Begin and our gritty Captain K (not to mention a few Cats penalties that never would have been called in years past), the guys were able to deliver another thrilling win. They'll have to do better defensively against the bettter teams, and try to figure out ways to stay out of the overcrowded pentaly box. But for now, victory is sweet and it's great to be a fan of the bleu-blanc-et rouge.
Ahhh '93... I still remember exactly where on Saint Catharines Street I was standing on that fateful night... Even the streets were lighting up with Blue and Red... Can't beat a Stanley Cup Victory in Montreal!
