board conduct rules?
Permalink Closed

I think we need a code of conduct, clearly spelled out, and permanently at the top of the board in order to avoid having threads closed or shut down for infringements

thanks

Not a bad idea, but aren't we all supposedly mature adults?  We should know when we have crossed the line - and when we don't (and we all err sometimes) we need moderators to call us on it.  I'm all for granting the moderators their power - and those who don't like it can always volunteer for the job!

Personally I don't think we need moderators, and this is by no means to take away from the ones we have, they all important parts of this community. But I know from past message board experieces that as soon as you impliment a moderator system, people will start to question it, it's just natural. I'm sure Mario had a purpous in selecting these moderators, probably to watch for things he can't take care of because he's busy, if the board ever expands to the point that it's too much for Mario to handle then we could look into Moderators, but for now we could just let it slide because we haven't really had problems in the past.

Just a thought, from a former moderator from another board

Nothing fancy, just a few lines spelling out the do's and dont's

I think everyone here is pretty mellow anyway (well, most everyone-o) so I don't think it would have to be too harsh, but it would avoid having a good topic being pulled by a yahoo's reply

just an idea
