Great game...I'll take the point...BUT

Richard Zednik was given waaaayyyyy too much ice-time last night!  How many Sens chances could be traced directly back to Zed’s stick?  That is a coaching error in my opinion!  Why not limit him to the PP…and maybe half the number of those shifts?  And-o counted 2 goals (and approx 5 primo scoring chances) that could probably have been prevented by a pair of seasoned hands and crisp legs!  What was the rush in icing him???

Mike Ribeiro is starting to get into a groove offensively…but is all but useless defensively!

Koivu was absolutely nullified offensively (not intended as an insult)…as was Kovy & Perez, although I credit the kid with at least contributing some forechecking energy that the other two seemed to lack.  Is anyone else getting a sense that Koivu is really looking tired these last 2 games?  I see Saku digging and scratching along the boards for the puck at times where he would normally have had that split second or two to weave away with the puck!  And, And-o remembers how most of Koivu’s previous knee injuries have occurred…as in, off balance…end of an extended shift…after a series of tough skating games…extended point streak.

And-o highly suggests that CJ (and Saku) shorten his shifts BIGTIME over this next little while!  A healthy and productive Saku is better for all.

Theo is back!

Bulis needs a bucket of pucks…an open net and tilted ice in order to score!  If only everyone could skate like him!!!

I agree with what you have to say for the most part. I said in another post that I felt CJ made a mistake putting Zed out there so much. Players who know Claude, know that he is loyal to players who have put out for him in the past. No doubt, Zednick told Claude repeatedly that he was fine and CJ took him at his word. Next time players need to park the ego and admit when they are not 100%. Coaches are human and make mistakes just like players do. Other than that I felt CJ coached a great game and has the team firing on all cylinders.

Yes the number one line was shut down. Ottawa keyed on them and they were not able to deal with it. But I was happy to see the other lines, especially Ribs' pick up the slack. I think we have a VERY solid team. Let's keep this all in persepctive folks. We did not lose in Overtime to the Penguins last night. We lost to the class of the league. A team that I will now boldly predict is going to literally waltz it's way to a Stanley Cup this season. Ottawa is a powerhouse. We are NOT in the same class as them nor should we pretend to be. If not for Theo standing on his head we are not in Overtime. But we did alot of things right last night. We went toe to toe with them. However it is painfully obvious that we do not have the guns that Ottawa does yet.

We do need a couple more players and BG will get them. Streit is NOT the answer as a quarterback for the PP and we need a skilled center. Look for Streit to be eating hot dogs once Ivanis is healthy again (CJ will not keep dressing 7 dmen). By the way, even though Ivanis lost his fight to Cara ib the earlier game, we coudl have used him last night. Idiots like Neil and that hired goon McGratton were taking way too many liberties out there.
