So far this year, I am happy to see that fighting is on it's way out of the NHL. Fighting majors are way down. i have to admit though that I was once a fan of the Don Cherry school of hockey (i.e. I used to love fighting). It has no place in the new NHL.
The NHL has been trying to faze out fighting for awhile. its a terrible idea i think fighting is part of the game, look at some of the most famous hockey pictures, there after fights. Fighting truley shows what some players are made of, and without fighting there would be some guys trying to injure without physical ramifacations. Instigating has already made this fact evident, you think Sean Avery would be running his mouth on Blacks and French Canadiens on the ice if Gautheir and Laroque could start a fight with him without getting the instagtor?
