Not sure how many of you saw the blurb on Theo on TSN but it pissed me off.
Here we have a goalie that demanded $5 million and they are defending him saying he needs time because he is off to a slow start. Well guess what start another goalie then who is ready to play. They are giving Theo excuses with his play and its pathetic. If you are demanding more money you better be sure you are going to back it up with solid play.
I agree Theo is a good goalie but he is inconsistent. Stop making excuses for this guy, pampering him and send him a message by playing Danis.
"Look at the Kiprosoff's and Habibulan's of the league - they aren't play well either" - quoted from Molanson. Gimme a break - this guy has to play better - who cares if he had 16 months off. You shouldn't make comparisons but if you are look at Belfour and Hasek - both of them need walkers they are so old but they are getting the job done for their teams.
You make a good statement - but the way I see it is the "younger goalies" are having more trouble. Belfour and Hasek are seasoned and I think they've seen it all - nothing rattles them. Brodeur stinks because he had such great defense that now they are gone and he's lost. When you consider the amount or groin injuries amoung starting goalies it's no wonder some are more timid. They're afraid of the invading hoards of crease crashers.
I think you are bang on flowerpower. Theo, while making some big time saves, has been really inconsistent this year.
I agree with you about giving Danis a couple of starts, and letting Theo work on his inconsistency with Rolie the Goalie (Perhaps not until the home and home with the Rangers).
I'm not saying he needs to go down to the number two spot, but why not help him figure things out while it is still early in the season?
