1) Will Theo bounce back within the next 3 homes games?
2) If he has another poor game will Danis get a start over the next 3 games?
3) How many games of the next 3 home games will the Habs win (BOS, NYI, PHI) and against who?
4) Who will step up and make the biggest impact over the next 3 games?
My answers:
1) Yes, he must otherwise this season will not be as promising as most of us thought.
2) Yes, if Theo struggles in the next two expect Danis to start against the Flyers.
3) 2 wins - BOS and NYI
4) I guess this is more hoping then true thinking but I have to believe Theo will step it up in the next game or two. He needs to lead this team along with Kovy and Sak. These are our 3 top paid players and so far 2/3 have been doing their job.
I agree with everything you said except for the comments about Koivu and Kovalev. I don't believe they've played badly at all so far. The only thing you could possibly not like about Kovalev's play is he isn't shooting nearly enough, but he definitely will light it up as the year goes by, and his current point total is nothing to complain about.
why would he care if he bounces back or not? He has a guaranteed contract for a few years. Supposing he sits in the becnh and Danis plays every game does not matter. Gainey should never have signed this guy to a long term contract. Now he feels completely comfortable.

I am going to try to explain something. You all know I am a polioce officer from past postings. Everyone can work a paid detail (traffic etc) at 34.00 an hour. If it goes more than 8 hours than it is time and a half at 34.00 so its 51.00 an hour. Why do I say this ?? Well when I started as a PO in theb 70's it was 8.00 an hour for a detail. Guys were attentive when they were on a detail. We have guys I work with who seem to get more lazy the more they make. They dont pay attention, they sit on their asses in their car. You see where I am going here????? Oh Boston and the Islanders are very tough. I would not be surprised to see a one goal game against boston (either way). The islanders appear to be explosive. Philly I just do not know. I do not feel theo will break out of it. In fact a week from now i will be posting the same thing .
David, I admire you passion. And you make a very valid point. What incentive is there for someone makinng top $ to perform? I manage a group that fluctuates from 10-20 people and I see this all the time. But I don't know that I completely agree that this applies to Theo. He's already had a mega contract. I think he wants bigger and better - ie Stanley Cup and record books, out-do Roy etc. I'll admit if I'm wrong but I feel now that he is just needing more time to get used to the changes. Maybe a week or so. But I have nothing against Danis coming in and playing 77 games if that's what it takes to get to the Stanley Cup.
Figaro, I agree but I am concerned that this thing with Theo will go on so long that we will pass the point of no return (30-40 games in) and by then we will be in trouble. Lets remember Boston, Ottawa, toronto among other teams will be playing us 8 times each. If we cannot beat them we are in trouble Big Trouble
Personally I'm pretty sure that that Theo's perfectly aware of what people are saying about him and that sheer pride is incentive enough to make him want to play as well as he can every night. Not wanting to imply any disrespect to the law enforcement community knowing that countless tens of thousand of people will be out for your blood if you so much as fart out of tune puts him in an entirely different position. He may be dumb but he's not stupid...and anyway, nobody plays badly on purpose.
