. . . and his rebounds are driving me crazy. Giving up rebound after rebound is a recipe for a loss. Damn! 3-2 Leafs with 7 left . . .
I fully agree. It wasn't that he was terribly bad or that the goals were that weak, but he simply looks uncomfortable on every shot, and allows far too many rebounds. Belfour outshone him tonight.

It is always the way, our forwards take so long and work so hard to get the goal and theo lets them in so easy. I am sick to my stomach, he should go he will never be the Theo from 3 years ago.
He certainly isn't earning that contract. He is supposed to be the leader of this team......as of the first 6 games he has been anything but. We outplayed the Leafs tonight but Belfour outplayed Theo and we lose.
Lets not all jump ship on him just yet. He really wasn't that bad tonight. It's just the rebounds. I suspect Roland Melanson will work with him extensively on that and with luck it will be better by Tuesday. He WILL NOT stay like this for the whole season, mark my words.
he just go a lucrative contract. HE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO "WORK ON THINGS'". Sorry but theo has been nothing but average to date. I have felt that way about him for a while though. He had one great season but so did Steve Penny!
I agree 100% that he shouldn't have to work on anything, but the reality of it is he does. It's frusterating, but I'm trying to be patient with him. I'm praying for a strong performance against Boston. I really want to see Theo silence all his critics.
I am sorry Rolle Melanson can work with him. He should not need any fine tuning a with the contract he got. I think one of the biggest mistakes made by BG and CJ was letting Garon go. I know I will take heat for that but I really feel strongly about that.
What i find really sad is that in the past one of the things he has done incrediblly was rebounds. Even in his off season he was good with rebounds, now its his week spot. I guess the pads are really affecting him and many people said they wouldn't because he is small and that they would affect Luongo more but its the other way around.
I pray it IS the pads, because that means he'll get used to it in time and fix it. If that's the case, it shouldn't take too much longer to work on those rebounds. I could be wrong about that, but Superhab is right; it was always one of his strongest points, so if it's not the pads, something sure doesn't add up!
I called this guy out when he was trying to get more $ and I will do it again....one word..C-O-N-S-I-S-T-E-N-C-Y!! The elite goalies have it. Theo, unfortunately, currently does not.

Figaro- I agree it IS a team game. But as a former goalie myself I know firsthand the importance of goaltending. If Souray goes out and has an off game, or Kovalev..very seldom does this result in the team losing the game. In other words, players not in charge of stopping the puck can afford to have an off night or 2. The goalie cannot. Especially with our team. We do not have a tong of goalscorers capable of scoring 6 a night. Most games we win will be one goal games (4-3, 2-1 etc). So if we have shaky goaltending it becomes that much worse. Having said that, the D men have got to start doing a better job of staying on their man in front of the net. Penalty or not, Lindros and Tucker need to be put on their ass next time we play them. Saturday they could have pulled up a lawnchair and had a beer

Right on, B33. A goalie is set apart - must be a constant. In a 6-5 if a goalie is good then it might end up 3-5. Even if 2 other players play better, it still might end up 2-5 or 3-6. I still think we have "sand the wood before we can paint the table" if you know what I mean.
And was it not a treat to see Tucker splattered over and over again by Komisarek
