Chivas-esque?

I was just reading about Chivas USA soccer team, which is marketed toward the hispanic population, and is comprised of hispanic players.

Do you think it would be economically pheasible for the Habs to live up to their name, and only have French Canadians playing, while maintaining a great team?

And who would be the ultimate francophone team? (current players only)

There is enough talented francophone players in the NHL to make up a decent team.  The problem is weather they would want to play in Montreal.

french goalies is easy with guys like Brodeur, Theo and Luongo.

Centers you have Lecavalier, Bergeron, Turgeon, Chouinard, Laperierre, Belanger, Perreault

Left Wings- Brunette, Gelinas, Aubin, Dupuis, Bouchard, Vermette,

Right Wings- St. Louis, Daige, Dumont, Gagne, Dagenais, Audette, Roy

Defense- Aucoin,Boucher, Brisebois, De Vries, Bergeron, Gauthier, Bouillon, Phaneuf, Rivet, Robidas, Desjardins, Quintal, Dandenault, Beauchemin

And that about rounds it off. Im not 100% certain on the Quebecois part on every player but i looked for french last names. Its not that bad of a team if you ask me!

Here is a history lesson. I believe up until the late 60's, Montreal Canadiens had territorial veto rights over any Quebec first round picks.

Translated to today's world, that would have meant Mario Lemieux, Vinnie Lecalvalier, Ray Bourque, etc. Montreal would have had first dibs.
