suggestion to posters.....
Permalink Closed

Im sure you all have noticed that posts will fall off the first page REALLY quickly. Last thread i started was only 2 days ago and its on the 6th page.... I really think that we should use our front page and reply to the best use possible. Im gonna use Davidb as my example, sorry Dave... But say the 6 threads he started today, alot 2-3 of them are one sentence questions. Im sure if all three questions were put into the same thread it would still get responded to and save room on the front page while we are at it. Especially now that we have that Quote tool you can specify while replying, what section of the previous post your talking about. Just a suggestion.

Agreed Johab. Lets try to post all of our points in a more compact way. That way we can have time to reply to posts. just a suggestion to some posters

I agree we need Quality posts, not a Quantity of posts.  In some ways the new post counter and member titles can be a problem.

I have to say that I have been injoying for example david's post and feel they are of quality and quantity. I do understand what johab is stating though. I myself have been maybe tripple posting because they are irrelevant subjects and I hope to start a conversation with one of them at least. I will try to compile my thoughts before I start a post.

I must say also that I do respond to other posts even if they are on page 2 or more!

I also like this format but don't understand why the conversations are shorter now than before? Are posters too lazy to scroll to other pages to continue a conversation?

I was going to post something to this effect.  Trust me, I've been guilty of this too, but this week I have made a conscious effort to answer posts.

Mario, is there any way to have different rooms?  Like for broad topics - one for game commentary, one for non hab topics, etc.  I can manage these (once I'm moderating :P)

Yes this board can accomodate multi-forums but I much prefer having everything on one site.

This is just an idea, but on other boards with a set up such as this one, I have seen when a post gets replied to, it moves to the top of the board, would a setup like this be beneficial here? So if something falls to the second pge but is still being viewed i will move back up.

If you go to the bottom of the main page, there is a sort option.  You can sort it by last post there.
