Imagine paying out the average salaries that these owners are and NOT insisting that your assets be insured against a career ending injury that is 100% preventable!?!?!
MAKES NO SENSE...common sense issue here folks!
You wear a seatbelt when riding in a car...you chew your food before swallowing...you don't run around with sharp scissors in your hand...you don't drink and drive...
...these are all the "rules" that glue our society together!!!
NO SYMPATHY FOR THESE DUMMIES...NONE. And the CBA should reflect this...as in, ZERO insurance against those players dumb enough not to wear a visor!
The NHL is a much faster paced, hard-hitting, and potentially dangerous league than junior hockey, or any other league in the world.
Guys who aren't used to visors will have a tough transition time during which they frequently will temporarily lose sight of the puck 'in their feet'. Instinctually, guys look down. In the NHL, it's way too dangerous to do so.
One guy who is not used to wearing a visor loses sight of the puck, looks down, and BOWANGO! Another Lindros.
But what would Don Cherry think? If I was a player, I wouldn't want grapes to mistake me for a non-Canadian. Or worse yet (gasp) a Fench Canadian! Mon dieu, je facherais pas Mr. Raisin!
I know visors in our league are mandetory, they wont let you play without them. I dont know what the babies in the nhl dont like them, they arent that bad! I mean the goalie learns how to see through a cage for god sakes, if anything they should be the ones complaining about a cage on their face and not this NASA constructed clear plastic face mask or something else!
