How do you say "Plekanec"?

A funny thing, but I've never heard anyone pronounce Plekanec's name out loud, so I don't really know how it sounds.  In my mind, I pronounce it Pluh-KAN-eck, although I wouldn't be surprised if it were Ple-kuh-NECK or even Ple-kuh-NESH.

I don't know myself but I always thought it was pronoucned Play-ka-neck

I hear the local radio guys pronounce it Ple-ka-nech

It's actually right like it' s spelled - pleKAnek.  I've heard it a couple places and it seems consistantly to be that.

I believe the correct pronunciation is more like PLE-kah-nech. Two things I know about Czech (he IS czech, right ?) is that the emphasis is alwys on the first syllable unless otherwise designated, and that the letter c is pronounced ch or ts depending on what symbol is or isn't above it.
